In 1979, Emmanuel Baptist Church opened Emmanuel Christian School to offer a Christian education to its member families.  In our 35 years of service, ECS has managed to proclaim God’s love to students from Manassas City and Prince William County, and we also draw students from Centreville, Gainesville, and even from Alexandria and Stafford.

Since its establishment, ECS has:
·         Served thousands of families and students through the ministry of Christian formation
·         Cultivated leaders among our students and staff through the ministry of Christian education
·         Blessed the surrounding communities with our witness to the gospel
·         Celebrated 29 High School graduations with 630 students completing High School
In the last decade, economic and social change has presented new challenges and opportunities to private schools across the country. The Great Recession that began in 2009 affected families and schools
alike, and homeschooling has increasingly become a popular option in lieu of private schooling.  In light of this shifting environment, ECS decided to focus exclusively on elementary education in January 2014 to serve the core needs our families. However, the Holy Spirit helped us discern in the spring of 2018 that the time was right to reopen our middle and high school programs starting in the Fall. We once again can offer a Christian education to our surrounding community for all grades, from Pre-K 3 through twelfth grade. As we rebuild our MS and HS programs, we are following a hybrid model that draws on elements of both traditional classroom instruction and video-based homeschooling, allowing both face-to-face interaction and a pace of instruction tailored to each student.
