The philosophy of Emmanuel Christian School (ECS) is founded on the Word of God and reflects the Church Mission and the Church Statement of Faith.
ECS believes the admonition to "train a child in the way he should go..." (Proverbs 22:6) includes a well-balanced and high quality education that is based on a Biblical foundation.
We believe that children are truly "a gift from the Lord," (Ps. 127:3) therefore our purpose is to train and inspire our students to obey and live for Jesus Christ in a secular society.
We believe that all truth is God's truth, whether in history, geography, science, math, literature or the arts, and that Jesus Christ and His teachings are central to all learning and living. Therefore, we strive to prepare our students for life by implementing, integrating and fusing Biblical values and principles with academics.
We believe that obedience is the heart of character training, which will cultivate an inner self-control as the student matures. We believe this to be essential to the emotional, physical and spiritual well being of each student.
ECS believes that a child is best trained when there is a unity of vision in the training from the parents, the school, and the church. ("...Standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel." Phil. 1:27, "… make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose," Phil. 2:2). We strive to encourage that unity by developing close bonds of fellowship between the parents, the students, and the faculty. We believe that this type of training will best equip the students for their role in God's plan and for their proper places in society.
We believe:
-
That every student is unique intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
-
That every student can be successful within the framework of individual needs.
-
That every student should have the opportunity to explore areas of interest in utilizing a variety of methods and teaching styles.
-
That the school should emphasize basic skills as well as exploratory study in academics and fine arts.
-
That the development of self-discipline should be the shared responsibility of school, home, and student.
-
That every student can be successful at evangelism, discipleship, ministry, worship, and fellowship.
Core Values
